A 47-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, August 10, for shooting and injuring an Arcadia police officer (shot in the jaw), the suspect's 73-year-old mother (shot in the chest) and the neighbor across the street (shot in the eye with stray bullet). City revoked their license on July 28. The couple appealed but the city's Planning Commission upheld the decision. The couple will appeal again.

Arcadia High School names Eric Elias as head football coach. Elias is a former assistant coach and an Arcadia alum. He was offensive coordinator at Cantwell Sacred Heart this past season, and has had previous coaching experience at Buena Park, Schurr, and Arroyo.
A freeway shooting leaves one dead in Arcadia. Driver crashes, dies, after being shot by someone in another car while on the 210 Freeway, California Highway Patrol reports. The driver was a woman, a Monrovia resident.
