Five tennis courts have been proposed for the top of two water reservoirs at the corner of Baldwin and Orange Grove. The Parks and Recreation Department has set aside $25,000 for the project. The City Council must approve.
25% of a $10,000 goal for the new Jerry Broadwell children's room has been pledged. A benefit concert will be held on December 17 at the San Gabriel Civic Auditorium and proceeds will be shared by the High School and the Broadwell Fund.

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved a program for the development of a Hall of Environmental Education at the Arboretum. The Arboretum foundation has pledged $500,000 to the total $1,295,000 bill. There is no timetable for the work, but it will take approximately 2 or 3 years.

Herb Fletcher asked the Arcadia City Council to file a class action suit against the county on behalf of city property owners. City Attorney Liberto gave an opinion that there is no legal authority for the city to bring such a suit.

The California Teachers Association has filed charges with the Public Employees Relations Board against 16 area schools including Monrovia, Arcadia and Duarte. The charges relate to actions taken as a result of Proposition 13.
