Arcadia Fire Captain Tom Devlin was injured December 26 after part of a burning structure fell on him on Chestnut Avenue in Monrovia. He suffered second and third degree burns.
Arson is suspected in a $150,000 fire that gutted a brand new office building at 411 South First Avenue on September 11. The building housed the law offices of Pike, Wilson and Cosso.

Arcadia Fire Department and Monrovia Fire Department resonded to a fire that destroyed a vacant Arcadia house in the 1300 block of South First Avenue. The house was in the process of being sold and was in escrow. The damage is estimated at $300,000.
Attempted murder/suicide by trying to drive off Chantry Flat at Santa Anita Dam. Suspect holed up at the dam house, SWAT called. The suspect, a 21-year-old Los Angeles resident named Patrick Anthony Gonzalez, was arrested by Arcadia police.

Arcadia woman was hurt in apartment fire in 900 block of West Huntington Drive on August 7. The 50-something year old woman was taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital in critical condition.
Arcadia kidnapping, rape suspect Philippe Brian Lutete, 29, is charged with false imprisonment and sexual battery of a woman on November 26 in the 2900 block of Spruce Court. He was out on bail when he was also arrested on April 8, 2015 on suspicion of kidnapping and raping a woman over an 11-hour period.
Arcadia father William (Bill) Morales, finally achieves college degree at age 50. He graduated from Cal State Los Angeles, with a bachelor's degree in business administration last week.
The body of 41-year-old Monrovia woman Carina Yong-Yi Sun was found in a vehicle at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on January 9, 2012. The cause of death has tentatively been ruled suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning.
