The city council agreed to spend no more than $3000 per year to maintain the big dish fountain at Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive. The fountain broke several years ago and the county felt it could not justify the cost of fixing it.
Responding to a proposal by L. A. County, the Arcadia City Council has agreed to discuss receiving title to the Rose Garden area of the Arcadia County Park for the city's Arcadia Historical Museum at the corner of Huntington Dr. and Holly Avenue.

Arcadia Board of Education candidate, Gene Shepherd feels it is unfair that he and 3 other candidates were not interviewed (as they had been in past years) by Arcadians for Arcadia. A spokesman for the group said it was pointless to interview Shepherd since the 3 incumbents "are doing a good job" while Shepherd "hasn't proven himself."
An ordinance will be introduced for first reading by Arcadia City Council whereby the city would receive .33 of 1% of parimutuel wagers at Santa Anita Park race track. If ordinance is approved, city would eliminate admission tax.
