Jim Hauser, a 40-year resident who is active in the Arcadia Red Cross, Arcadia Historical Society, and the Rotary Club, was named Senior Citizen of the Year.

Rosalie Dunham, who moved to Arcadia 10 year ago, is the Senior Citizen of the Year. After the death of her husband 8 years ago, she and her friend Marilyn Morrison began Starting Over, a group for people who have suffered a loss. She also started a follow-up group called Branching Out.
About 400 people joined City officials in the spacious main room of the new Arcadia Community Center on Friday to dedicate the $4.5 million structure that will house the City's Senior Citizens Services and Recreation Department.
Pasadena Tournament of Roses announces 2024 Rose Queen Naomi Stillitano, a senior from Arcadia High School. She is the 105th Rose Queen, lives in Arcadia, is co-president of Italian Culture Club, a dancer and actress with the Arcadia Stage Theater. Born and raised in Italy for 7 years, with goal to create her own fashion brand, interested in studying fashion design. The Rose Queen and the Rose Court act as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses, the Pasadena community, and the greater Los Angeles area. Each Royal Court member receives a $7500 educational scholarship.

Ruth Dunlop was presented a Volunteer of the Year award at the Community Center's Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet. She has volunteered 949 hours at Arcadia's Senior Citizen Services this year.
Arcadia Senior Services is partnering with Arcadia Chinese Association to celebrate Chinese New Year on Friday, February 3, at the Arcadia Community Center, 365 Campus Drive. It's an event for age 50 and over and the cost is $10 per person.
Arcadia will have 2 of the 7 members of the 1994 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court. The 2 are the Queen, Erica Beth Brynes, 18, and Princess Therese Kathleen Erdman, who waved last year as a member of the Arcadia float.
