A suspected bank robber, a 46-year old man from Nevada, was killed and a 14-year old Temple City girl was injured in a shootout with police in a strip mall in the 600 block of W. Duarte Road.
Police responding to a 911 hangup call in the 700 block of Sharon Road found a suspected brothel stocked with young women, gambling paraphernalia, contraceptives, and extensive lists with names and phone numbers. Seven men and eleven women were arrested.
The City Council called for federal legislation restricting the flow and existence of illegal aliens. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors had sent a request to area cities urging them to adopt a resolution supporting the proposed legislation.
City department heads gathered for a 3-day workshop to study City Council's goals and objectives for 1993, including planning for state revenue cutbacks, fire and library building construction and promotion of economic development.
Arcadia-based Falcon Management Co. owner Robert Forsting agreed to a Star-Tribune interview concerning complaints from customers in Valley cities and Los Angeles. Mr. Forsting said he's had to fire employees who have made mistakes, and the Arcadia Police Department has taken the unusual step of advising those customers to file a class action lawsuit.
