Captured Images Photography (CIP) will produce senior portraits and provide materials for photography classes and the yearbook. The Governing Board also adopted a new search policy.

Seven firefighters were injured in Arcadia house fire on White Oak Drive. The Arcadia Fire Department (AFD) required assistance from Monrovia, Sierra Madre, El Monte, and Los Angeles County. Six from AFD were treated at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. The seventh firefighter, from Sierra Madre Fire Department, remained hospitalized in stable condition at St. Luke's Hospital in Pasadena. The house sustained extensive loss. Nearby residents wondered if the AFD needed so much help from outside fire departments because of recent cuts to the AFD.
The Arcadia Historical Museum has been approved for a $100,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for construction of a new museum.
Signs with foreign characters need review as signage may not be appropriate. Councilman John Wuo suggested that the Arcadia Chinese Association would be willing to unofficially review signage requests with Chinese characters.
The second annual Arcadia Education Foundation "Connect to the Future" telethon will be on March 6. It is believed to be the only student-produced telethon in America.
The preliminary design for the Arcadia Historical Museum has been approved by the city council but more money is still needed to build the museum. Fundraising will be done by the Arcadia Historical Society.

Arcadia Police has purchased new weapons best suited for an urban environment with the tactics the Arcadia Police would normally be using. Each officer will receive training for the Colt M16.
