Former Mayor Charles Gilb and Ruth Gilb will donate $300,000 to build a new historical museum. The historical society will contribute an additional $100,000.
Ruth Lubin, 82, a former Arcadia High School art teacher, won the "Ms. Senior America of California" competition for the Los Angeles metro area, to be followed by the state competition in Torrance in March, 1994. Ms. Lubin performed a Balinese dance, explained her wood carving, and recited a poem.
Ruth Dunlop was presented a Volunteer of the Year award at the Community Center's Annual Volunteer Recognition Banquet. She has volunteered 949 hours at Arcadia's Senior Citizen Services this year.

Tiny books tell stories in a way all their own. Doris Selmer and Jerome Selmer, avid collectors of miniature books, have just published "The First Museum of Los Angeles," a miniature book about the Southwest Museum.
