A bystander was shot inadvertently after two men got into an argument at a Chevron gas station at Santa Anita Avenue and Live Oak Avenue. The bystander is a man in his early 20s and is expected to recover. The Arcadia Police Department is seeking the public's help.
Two men and two juveniles were arrested on suspicion of committing more than eight armed robberies in the Arcadia and Monrovia areas since late January.
At 1:53 PM on April 6, 2004, Arcadia Police Department officers descended on the Arcadia Public Library and arrested two men. One of the two men was seen passing a loaded gun to the other. Librarian Debbie Marks' coments on the incident are included. The men were Trevor Kuk, 21, of Arcadia and Enrique Ayala, 24, of Duarte.
The city has taken a second pumper truck out of service following a July 4 incident in which a water pump failed to engage on a fire truck. A recent string of robberies in Arcadia may have been committed by two serial robbers. The latest crime was reported at the 500 block of Las Tunas Drive. The suspects are two Latino men driving a green or blue, newer-model, 4-door sedan, in their mid-20s.
Two Asian men died Wednesday night after being gunned down as they left a restaurant in the 1000 block of South Baldwin Ave. One victim was identified as Kenneth Tsui of West Covina.

The bodies of two missing men identified as Haang Fung Chin, also known as Edward Chin, of Arcadia and Cheuk Lun Cheung, also known as Alan Cheung, of Monterey Park were found badly charred in a desert area south of Barstow.
Gracie Gao, 57, and Steve Wang, 58, were arrested on suspicion of operating a house of prostitution on the 200 block of West Palm Avenue in Arcadia. Gao and Wang were booked on a misdemeanor charge and later released on $500 bail. The arrests at the well-kept ranch-style house surprised neighbors.
An armed robbery Wednesday led to an all-night standoff with the police when the two suspects fled to an Arcadia home and held resident Pat Plumley hostage.
70-year-old Mulji Patel of Arcadia was sentenced to 12 years in prison for hitting a workers' compensation attorney in the head with a hammer. The assault happened on January 31, 2006. Erwin A. Nepomuceno was the victim.
The $16 million Arcadia Police Station building, built with bond money and city and CRA funds, is on target for completion in July. WWM Associates designed the building. Mallcraft of Altadena is the contractor and Construction Control Group is the manager of the project. The station is the first civic project constructed with bond funding.
