Arcadia High School and University of Southern California graduate Bruce Matthews was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, on Saturday, August 4, 2007. He played for the Houston Oilers and Tennessee Titans.
The Westfield Group will acquire 15 department stores which are owned by Federated Department Stores, Inc., including stores in Arcadia and West Covina. Robinsons-May in Arcadia and Macy's in West Covina will become property of Westfield and converted for other uses.

Two boys and two girls were born to Feda and Samer Shalabi on Friday, October 4, at the Arcadia Methodist Hospital. The quadruplets were conceived through invitro fertilization.
Arcadia City Councilman Gary Kovacic will take over as mayor at the next City Council Meeting. He will serve through October 21 and then the position will rotate to John Wuo (October 21-January 4), Mickey Segal (January 4-April 20). Gail Marshall was mayor through April 15 of this year. All council members are rotating to the position of mayor during the city's centennial.
A date for a preliminary hearing was set Thursday for Alhambra man Isaac Campbell, accused of murdering his girlfriend Liya "Jessie" Lu, and dumping her body in a trash can in Arcadia.
Fuller ethics professor Lewis Smedes died at Methodist Hospital in Arcadia on Thursday, Dec. 19th. Dr. Smedes was a pioneer in forgiveness research and the author of more than 15 books.
Arcadia government officials and centennial committee members are planning a yearlong civic celebration beginning January 1, 2003. On January 18, a gala event will honor people who have served the city. The history of Arcadia's incorporation, including the decision to use August 5, 1903, as the official date, is included.
