Arcadia neurologist Vincent Fortanasce has written a book called "The Anti-Alzheimer's Prescription," which focuses on preventing or delaying the disease. 101-year-old Marshall Welles of Duarte was the inspiration for Fortanasce's book.
The Women's Health and Issues club at Arcadia High School has organized a petition against misogynistic music at this Saturday's prom. Activities director John Pung said he supports the club's cause and could guarantee that 20 songs from the club's 300 song list won't be played.
In an opinion piece, writer Frank C. Girardot laments the suicide of Hunter S. Thompson. He shot and killed himself on Sunday, February 20, 2005. He had written two of his famous works, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", and "Strange Rumblings in Aztlan", when he lived in an Arcadia hotel in 1971.
