Arcadia police arrested 3 burglary suspects after a high-speed chase on the 210 Freeway ended in a crash in Azusa yesterday. The suspects are Dominic Bertirotti, 23, of Monrovia, Salim Alayache, 23 of Pasadena and Salvador Esparza, Jr., 18 of Azusa. No one was injured seriously.
Friends of the victims of a car crash that killed 3 when their car hit a wall and overturned at Live Oak Avenue and Las Tunas Drive, said they had been at a Pasadena bar before the accident.
A high speed police chase that began in Pasadena, then went through Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte and several other San Gabriel Valley cities, ended in the driving crashing into another car. The suspect was Edgar Angarita, 45, of Hollywood and the 21-year-old woman from Baldwin Park that he crashed into, are both being treated at the hospital. Police say Angarita was intoxicated. The chase occurred Monday, January 24. He is being held on suspicion of felony evading a police officer, but additional charges may be coming.

Arcadia police find the fatal hit-and-run suspect, a 17-year old boy, hiding in the bushes after pedestrian, a 28-year-old man, is killed crossing Huntington Drive. The suspect drove a gray Dodge Charger, which was found in the 1200 block of Oakhaven Road, with front end damage and a broken windshield.
Arroyo High School (El Monte) assistant coach of the junior varsity softball team Raymond Daniel Yniquez, 21, of Pomona, died in a car crash on Live Oak Avenue near Las Tunas Drive, along with two others dead.
Richard John Villareal, Jr., 28, received a sentence of more than 15 years in prison for a car crash following a police pursuit in Temple City that killed his passenger. The defendant led Arcadia police officers on a high-speed pursuit after they attempted to pull him over for driving a stolen car near Workman and Baldwin Avenue.

A passenger (name withheld pending notification to next of kin) in a stolen vehicle was killed and another hurt yesterday following a pursuit by Arcadia police. Richard John Villareal, 28, of Arcadia, and his male passenger led Arcadia police on a chase that ended about 11:40 AM on Lower Azusa Road and Arden Drive in Temple City when the stolen car crashed into two other vehicles. Arcadia man Chuck Misner, 77, reunites with his old muscle car, his 'Lil Chevy Wonder, a 1966 Chevy II Super Sport. He originally bought it in 1966 and won many drag races with it. The car's current owner is Joe Staffilino of Steubenville, OH. Misner went to see Staffilino and got to drive his old car again. Misner provided Staffilino with original sales documentation that authenticates the vehicle. Staffilino has been offered $100,000 for this rare car, but he won't sell.
Pasadena man Heber Enoc Diaz charged with capital murder of 76-year-old Arcadia woman Chyong Jen Tsai. Also charged were Luis Alonso Cruz Gaitan of Altadena and Isis Ondina Villalobos of Pasadena as accessories after the fact.
Maha Hakim, 52, of Arcadia, was struck by a car in the 1100 block of Duarte Road at 3:30 PM on Friday, November 30, and died of her injuries at Huntington Memorial Hospital. She was attempting to walk across the road near Sunset Blvd.
An 81-year-old West Covina man, Hao Liang, was struck and killed by a car when he was walking across Santa Anita Avenue, south of Duarte Road, last Wednesday, December 18, approximately 5:36 PM, at La Sierra Drive. The driver was a 36-year-old Monterey Park woman.
Arcadia couple accused of 60 Freeway hit-and-run that killed girl. CHP alleged 39-year-old Priscilla Cornejo was driving the wrong way when she crashed into the victims' car. Angelique Zarate died as a result. Johnathon Cornejo, 33, was charged with murder and being an accessory after the fact.
