Arcadia High School Marching Band will march in the 2021 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade (Rose Parade). This will be Arcadia High School's 17th appearance in the parade.
La Salle High School senior Isabella Marie Marez crowned the 100th Rose Queen to reign at 2018 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl. Joining her on the Royal Court are Lauren Buehner and Sydney Pickering from Arcadia High School.
Pasadena Tournament of Roses announces the parade's 2018 Royal Court. One of the seven Rose Princesses will be the 100th Rose Queen. Olympic figure skater Mirai Nagasu of Arcadia will be one of the featured speakers at the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Youth Empowerment Forum at Pasadena Convention Center today.
A high speed police chase that began in Pasadena, then went through Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte and several other San Gabriel Valley cities, ended in the driving crashing into another car. The suspect was Edgar Angarita, 45, of Hollywood and the 21-year-old woman from Baldwin Park that he crashed into, are both being treated at the hospital. Police say Angarita was intoxicated. The chase occurred Monday, January 24. He is being held on suspicion of felony evading a police officer, but additional charges may be coming.
Arcadia's Gary Kovacic and John Wuo are the unofficial winners of the two City Council seats in the recent election by mail-in ballot. The final tally will be announced by early next week.
Spotlight on Rose Queen Victoria Castellanos and the princesses of the Royal Court. Two of them, Maya Khan and Lauren Powers, are from Arcadia High School.
Arcadia resident Ralph Bicker, a retiree for 25 years, keeps busy with volunteer work. He volunteers as the secretary/treasurer of the Pasadena Federal Credit Union's board of directors. He has been named Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.
Pasadena Symphony Association and its Pasadena Pops Orchestra, will take over the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden's 2012 summer concerts, which had featured the California Philharmonic Orchestra and its music director Victor Vener for 14 years.
