Arcadia Unified School District hires four new principals. They are Tom Bruce (First Avenue Middle School), Teresa Oakdale (Holly Avenue Elementary School), Ben Acker (Foothills Middle School), and Lauren Leahy (Hugo Reid Elementary School). The new hires come soon after David Vannasdall became the district superintendent in May.
Dr. Brent Forsee, Principal of Arcadia High School for seven years now, is being recommended as next Arcadia Unified School District Assistant Superintendent. If approved, Dr. Forsee would succeed Dr. Jeff Wilson, who is being recommended as next Superintendent of San Marino Unified School District.
Nadia Lanyi celebrated her 105th birthday. She lives at Arcadia's Vista Cove. She is originally from Lithuania and lived in New York for most of her life. She has lived in this area for 14 months.

Longley Way Elementary School students return to campus after $10.4 million upgrade from Measure I bond. Upgrades include air conditioned cafeteria and classrooms equipped with smart boards, assisted hearing technology and document cameras.
The 2010 All-Area Girls Tennis was named. Those from Arcadia High School are Caroline Young, Michelle Zhu, Francis Dean, Annie Tung and Elizabeth Lieu. Coach of the Year is Jerry Dohling. An Arcadia High School girl on the second team is Nadia Pacheco-Amaro.
