Jockey Rodolfo Arvizu will receive the 2014 White Horse Award for his selfless effort to rescue fellow jockey Annie Von Rosen this past March, when her horse suddenly collapsed and trapped her underneath, at Turf Paradise. Twenty-six modular structures at the United States Forest Service (U.S.F.S.) site, located in the 700 block of North Santa Anita Avenue, were destroyed by fire on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in the early morning. 135 marijuana plants found in Arcadia home on the 500 block of West Huntington Drive. The suspect arrested is Tiv Ke Roeung, 40 year old Arcadia resident. He is being held without bail by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency.
Two Arcadia homes found by Arcadia Police Department to be used for indoor marijuana growing operations in the 1800 block of South Baldwin Avenue and the 300 block of West Woodruff Avenue. Gao Ming, 46-year-old male from Arcadia, Jia Hui Shen, 27-year-old male from El Monte, and Lan Lau, a 34-year-old female from Arcadia, were arrested and booked at Arcadia City Jail.
Arcadia burglary ring busted after morning raids in Pasadena, Altadena. A multi-agency task force arrested Shawn Ashton Sykes, 21, and Koreana Channise Muhammad, 19, both of Altadena. Prior to the raids, Kenneth Wayne Jaynes, 21, of Altadena, was arrested at the scene of the March 13 residential break-in in the 1100 block of West Foothill Boulevard.

Floretta K. Lauber Museum Education Center (MEC) dedicated in Arcadia in her name, upon the 1 year anniversary of her death. Lauber died August 1, 2016 and the MEC broke ground September 29, 2013. She was Arcadia's first woman to serve as mayor.
