The K-9 program returns to Arcadia Police Department. Police dog Zoli has been on the job for a month. The K-9 program was previously in place for many years before being discontinued in the mid-2000s.

Arcadia High School senior Ryan Leung earns perfect AP exam score on the AP College Board's Computer Science A exam in 2017. He is among only 111 other students on Earth who got perfect scores on this exam. His teacher was Brent Reiske. See also Arcadia Weekly, p. 1, 11, April 5, 2018.
PETA and City of Arcadia reach deal over coyote plan. Group had sued after city planned to start trap-and-kill program. Arcadia will pay $15,000 to settle the lawsuit that contended the city council approved the contract without an environmental report mandated by the California Environmental Quality Act. Arcadia man Ziwen Li, 30, arrested in attempted robbery of $50,000 from a man who arranged to meet Li to buy a used car, a Porsche Cayenne. See also Arcadia Weekly, May 4, 2017, p. 1, 13.

Anti-mansionization goes to the ballot. Zoning code issue continues as anti-mansionization group Saving Arcadia (an outgrowth of Save the Arcadia Highlands) takes it to the ballot in April 2018. California Philharmonic persists despite financial straits. It owes "quite a bit of money to quite a lot of people," including about $2,000 apiece to 60 musicians, but the orchestra has no plans to go out of business, said Music Director Victor Vener.
