Mrs. Raymond A. Dorn, wife of Pasadena real estate man, who developed much of the property north of Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia, was killed and her husband injured in an automobile accident at Rosemead Boulevard and Callita Street.

Mary Harvey was presented with a Certificate of Honor by the Board of Education for her volunteer work in the English as a second language program at First Avenue. An Arcadia resident since her childhood, Harvey attended First Avenue, taught there and had two of her three children graduate from there.

Area dropout rates for Arcadia Unified School District showed a 50% increase during the past five years. The latest figures are reportedly inaccurate because of a district reporting error.
The Arcadia Police Department, along with several company agencies, is investigating the Pat Hillings Travel Agency in Arcadia, now owned by David Pressman. The alleged fraud reportedly involved the sale of airline tickets by the agency.
Although two of Arcadia's 14 water wells have been contaminated by industrial solvents for years, a purification system installed by the city last December is reportedly working well, allowing the water from these wills to be used.
