Arcadia High School seniors Shannon Stockdale and Stephanie Valenzuela were named as princesses of the 2002 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court. They will reign over the 113th Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl game.

Arcadia Apaches roller hockey team won the San Gabriel Valley Roller Hockey League Championships by defeating Glendora 3-1. The Apaches, who use the name and logo of Arcadia High School, do not have an official affiliation with the school, but the team consists of high school age Arcadia residents, the majority of whom go to Arcadia High School.
The Pasadena Tournament of Roses named Arcadian Christina Leanne Farrell as the 81st Rose Queen. Joining her on the Royal Court are Arcadians Chaitali Gala and Olivia Wilson.

Luanne Cayer (photo) retires from Arcadia Unified School District after 34 years. She started as a bus driver in 1967. Her last job was Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation.
