Muriel Wood, executive director, Arcadia Red Cross, 1969-1973, is leaving the community to live in Roseburg, Oregon. Her many friends are planning a farewell luncheon in her honor March 29.
On a 3-1 vote, the Arcadia City Council Tuesday night turned down a request from the Arcadia Chapter of the American Red Cross for a refund on a $3,076.78 building permit fee.
People from the Historic Landmarks division of the National Park Service will visit Anoakia the last of January. The mansion is being considered as an historic landmark on the basis of its architect, Arthur Benton.
