The Arcadia Board of Education promised parents and supporters of former teacher Sandra Ragusa a statement on why she was not allowed to withdraw her resignation.

Over the years, with 501 (c)(3) status, the Arcadia Rotary Foundation has funded the Paul Johenk Fund, Ted McBane Fund, Dr. Bruce Walter Fund, Ira Traweek Fund and Nick Pokrajac Fund. The Paul Johenk Fund contributed $15,000 for one of the rooms at Arcadia Methodist Hospital, $10,000 to Arcadia Public Library for refurnishing a room, $10,000 toward construction of the Ruth and Charles Gilb Arcadia Historical Museum. Board of Directors are Bill Gleason, Brian Hall, Mike Real, John Murphy and Ira Traweek.
Arcadia's Arroyo Pacific Academy celebrates grand opening of new campus at 325 N. Santa Anita Avenue. Congresswoman Judy Chu was present, as well as Arcadia Mayor Pro Tempore Sho Tay.
Second grade student Austin Puertas of Holy Angels School in Arcadia organized a fundraiser to help victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. The K-9 program returns to Arcadia Police Department. Police dog Zoli has been on the job for a month. The K-9 program was previously in place for many years before being discontinued in the mid-2000s.
