A Braille Trail has been developed by the Arcadia Junior Women's Club at Wilderness Park. Approximately 25 species of plants and animals will be marked along the trail.

The Tribune camera caught Mrs. Mary Turner as she broke the tape in the "feature" race of the afternoon. Running a close second in the event is Mrs. John Panatier followed across the finish line by Mrs. Lucas.
The Whittier Narrows Recreation Area was dedicated on December 8, 1975 by Supervisor Peter Schbarum, the Assistant Secretary of the Army, Victor Vesey, and others. The 1000 acres include a nature area, picnic center, ball areas, etc.
Arcadia's top stories for 1993 included the proposal for a music center at Santa Anita Park, the proposal to fill the Rodeffer Landfill, and the temporary weekend closures at Wilderness Park.
The Wilderness Park, now to be known as the Arcadia Wilderness Preserve, will be open to the general public on weekdays and to non-profit organizations and small groups that have reservations on weekends.
Chuck Haznedl of Arcadia was recognized by Los Angeles County Supervisor Antonovich for his work as a volunteer at the Eaton Canyon Nature Center in Pasadena.

The Arcadia Community Center now offers a meal program with a charge of $3, as there in no federal funding for this program. The Center offers a variety of programs, from skilled nursing care to government benefits counseling to recreation programs to dances and free movies.
