City Council heard testimony on problems connected with opening of Marquee West - a club opened recently to bring musical groups to Arcadia - and aim at the younger people in the community. Ray Salazar, an Arcadia teacher, has been named to the National Democratic Party Convention to be held in the mid-West in December. This is the first time a national political party has tried a mini convention, and its purpose is to organize for greater unity.

Results of a recount of ballots cast in the recent Arcadia City Council election confirmed the original vote. Johanna A.M. Hofer, a candidate in the election, ordered the recount.
