Recent groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Arcadia Chapter building of the American Red Cross culminated years of fundraising projects and negotiations between the Red Cross, Methodist Hospital and City of Arcadia. Ceremony held at Methodist Hospital.
Groundbreaking for new Arcadia Chapter American Red Cross building is planned for March, 1983, with construction beginning shortly thereafter. Approved building site is on grounds of Methodist Hospital.
The Arcadia chapter of the Red Cross is seeking to become a regional subcenter for blood collection and processing for the Los Angeles and Orange County areas. Authorities say that such a center on the grounds of the Methodist Hospital would be ideal.
