The former city manager of Visalia has unanimously been selected to serve as the new Arcadia City Manager. Donald Duckworth will be officially sworn in at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
The Arcadia Board of Education voted to begin a districtwide grade level restructuring plan, choosing a fall 1994 date for the change. The new school arrangement would be K-5, 6-8, 9-12.

The hardest hit customer areas were Arcadia, Altadena, Covina, Duarte, El Monte, Montebello, Monrovia, Rosemead, San Gabriel and Temple City. About 135,000 SCE customers remained without electricity.
