A fundraiser will be held on March 4 at the Arcadia High School track beginning at 9:00 A.M. It is billed as a Jog-A-Walk-A-Torium. Entrants will get sponsors to pledge money on the basis of laps completed. Widest participation is hoped for.
A child care center will open September 15, 1975 at the Arcadia Presbyterian Church for all children. It is not geared toward working parents, but it is a special supplemental program to expand a child's experiences.
The Board of Education has approved a new after-school child care program to be conducted by the Santa Anita Family branch of the YMCA at the Holly Avenue Elementary School Youth Hut. About 20 children have been enrolled in the program, which can accommodate up to 35.
The death of Sean O'Brien who was killed walking across Campus Drive from the High School, has caused increased concern over the need for greater traffic safety measures in the area.

23 "heroes and heroines" in the Arcadia Unified School District were honored by the Board of Education in the first "Profiles in Excellence" awards. The awards were presented to "individuals who maintain a standard of excellence in their work and who represent those values and qualities which make Arcadia a special place for students." Names and positions of winners are given.
Interview with Geraldine Waite who, with husband Harold, has cared for several desert turtle pets for 28 years. The turtles do require special care and diet.
On Monday, 15 year old Arcadian Gerald Woods, Jr. was transferred to the rehabilitation unit of Northridge Hospital, nearly two months after he was accidentally shot in the head on March 5.
