The Arcadia Board of Education made firm its plans for the Junior High pupils. First Avenue 8th and 9th graders will attend classes on their own campus, while incoming 7th graders will be divided between Dana and Foothills junior high schools.
The drill team from Dana Junior High School marched off with the sweepstakes award at the 43rd annual Camellia Festival Parade in Temple City, while the band, tall flags and drum major (military) all captured first place trophies.

The Arcadia City Council has authorized a project to build concrete sidewalks adjacent to Camino Grove, First Avenue, Hugo Reid Primary, Dana and Holly Avenue schools.
For the first time Arcadia has a counselor, Eric Mordin, at the elementary level this year. At the present time he serves only Highland Oaks and Camino Grove schools.
The State Department of Education has announced that Dana Junior High and Foothills Junior High have been nominated as Distinguished Schools in the 1987-88 California School Recognition Program.
Teachers and parents at Camino Grove and Holly Avenue elementary schools are in communication with the Arcadia Board of Education to restore the School Improvement Program.
