Ryan Liu, a former Pasadena City College (PCC) Valedictorian enters race for PCC's board of trustees Area 6 seat. The seat, which represents portions of El Monte, San Gabriel, Rosemead, Arcadia and Temple City, is currently held by John Martin, first elected in 1979.
Rose Parade officials announce finalists for the 2024 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court. The group includes 28 teens from 15 Pasadena-area schools. Winners will be named Monday, October 2, with crowning of the queen slated for October 27. It will be the 135th annual Rose Parade. The finalists from Arcadia are Niyat Haregot, Naomi Stillitano, Shivani Wadhwa, and Danielle Workman.
Pasadena City College Board. Three challengers hold leads over incumbents in the recent primary election. In Trustee Area 7, Incumbent Anthony Fellow and Alton Wang, a legal advocate focused on improving representation in government for communities across the country, hope to represent the city of Arcadia on the college's Board of Trustees. Wang led early in a tight race. Both Fellow and Wang recognize the importance of the issues of housing insecurity and increasing access to college courses in the wake of declining enrollment at PCC. Young women begin journey to becoming 2024 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Rose Queen. More than 30 hopefuls attend first day of Royal Court tryouts at the historic Tournament House on Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena. Former Rose Court members, including Sahanna Rajnikantha of Arcadia, share stories and answer questions from the 2024 Court hopefuls.

The 2024 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Royal Court has a Halloween moment. They spent the evening trick-or-treating at the Tournament House in Pasadena. Naomi Stillitano of Arcadia, who was crowned the Rose Queen last week, was dressed as Cupid from the movie "Valentine's Day."

Trinity Dela Cruz of Marshall Fundamental School, Phoebe Ho of South Pasadena High School, Mia Moore-Walker and Jessica Powell, both of Flintridge Preparatory School, Naomi Stillitano of Arcadia High School,and Emmerson Tucker of Blair High School. One of these will be named queen later this month.
Pasadena Tournament of Roses new requirement. Royal Court candidates must be vaccinated. Applicants for the Royal Court must turn 17 before December 31, 2021. The Pasadena Area Community College District includes Arcadia, South Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre.

The Citrus Community College District encompasses Azusa, Bradbury, Claremont, Duarte, Glendora, Monrovia, and portions of San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Arcadia, Covina and Irwindale. The district enrolls more than 20,000 students.

Rose Parade 2024. SOI RV Club is a primo event for RV enthusiasts. The Sports Coach Owners International (SOI) has been organizing Rose Parade rallies for 45 years. They park at Santa Anita Park and attend multiple events including Equestfest, Bandfest, and some horse racing at the track.
