Los Angeles Board of Supervisors agreed on Tuesday, February 28, to lift COVID emergency declarations on March 31, while warning that the move doesn't mean the virus no longer poses a threat. This does not mean COVID-related restrictions go away. This decision came the same day the statewide COVID emergency declaration ended.

Two men suspected of robbing the California State Bank on Huntington Drive on February 5th have been arrested. Roosevelt Davis of Duarte and Steven Wesley Berry of Ontario are being held in the Arcadia City Jail.
Two shot to death Wednesday morning, August 1, in the alley near 816 Sunset Boulevard in Arcadia. Los Angeles Sheriff Department says it looks like a murder-suicide. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and the second victim later died at hospital from self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Later identified as Mel Liu and Cherry Liu, an estranged married couple.

48th Annual Arcadia Festival of Bands will be held Saturday, November 17. Animal rights advocate Barbara Casey, who oversaw working conditions on the canceled HBO series "Luck" has sued HBO and the American Humane Association, claiming horses on the show were grossly mistreated. She says she was wrongfully fired after complaining about inhumane conditions on the show.
LA County expected to reach COVID-19 herd immunity by July. The rate of people getting vaccinated has slowed, so it is taking longer to reach herd immunity. We have probably over 2 million more first doses to go until 80% of all LA County residents age 16 and over, will have received at least one vaccine.
