Assistance League of Arcadia celebrates 60 years of service to the community with Open House at their chapter house at 100 South Santa Anita Avenue on March 19, 2014. Their programs are funded through grants, donations, and the operation of The Bargain Box Thrift Shop at 64 East Live Oak Avenue, Arcadia.
Arcadia Assistance League's Bargain Box thrift store re-opens after a major $35,000 revamp including new display fixtures, carpeting, and an interior and exterior paint job. The opening celebration, starting at 3pm tomorrow, marks the 40th anniversary of Operation School Bell, a program that provides clothing to needy children. The Assistance League has 100 members and bought the store at 64 E. Live Oak Avenue in 1982.

Arcadia Assisteens Auxiliary accepting applications February 1-28. It is a co-ed auxiliary that provides community service opportunities for high school students. Assisteens staff the Book Buddies Program, in partnership with Arcadia Public Library, and volunteer at the Assistance League of Arcadia's Bargain Box Thrift Shop.
