Approximately 147 students who have attended Hugo Reid will be transferred to Holly Avenue next year if the proposal is passed by the school board. The transfer and boundary change are designed to alleviate over-crowding at Hugo Reid.
The School Board reversed an earlier decision to order construction of two modular buildings at Holly Avenue School to permit the transfer there of 150 students from Hugo Reid, thus emptying one classroom there for future growth. It may not be possible at this late date to get the necessary work done by September 15.

Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association plans its 12th annual Coronation Ball. Mrs. Earl Welch is chairman of the Ball Committee. Miss Arcadia will be crowned. The Arcadia Tournament of Roses Association Royal Court includes Joy Blackburn, Sandi Thistlewaite, Kristy Mutschler, Cathy Reid, Theresa Van Dusen. They will ride on the Arcadia float in the Pasadena Rose Parade on January 1, 1977. The queen has not been chosen yet.
The Arcadia chapter of the American Red Cross is looking for a site for a new building. One possibility is on county property, adjacent to the rose garden at Arcadia County Park.
The Hugo Reid Drive closure will have its final determination April 14. At present it is a one-way street as a result of fatal accidents some years back.
The newest park in the Arcadia area is the Peck Road Water Conservation Park at Live Oak and Peck Road. There will be fishing in the spreading basin of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District. This is a Los Angeles County Regional Park. Supervisor Peter Schabarum was on hand for the opening on June 23, 1975.
Rudolph C. Shosted, now 79, recalls his time spent at the Army's observation balloon school, located where the Los Angeles County Park golf course now is.
The City Council was decidedly disappointed at the low tax evaluation put on Fashion Park this year. The county says that the land will be re-assessed upward each year as its business and development is expanded.
At a meeting on November 20, County Assessor Philip Watson's representative and County Supervisors Peter Schabarum and Baxter Ward and others tackled the possibility of the San Gabriel Valley seceding from Los Angeles County.
The County Board of Supervisors urged the State Legislature and Governor Reagan to defeat a bill which would make it easier for citizens to form a new county.
