Arcadia based Cub Scouts go Supernova. Four Scouts recently earned the highest accomplishment a Cub Scout can receive for science, technology, engineering and math. Gianni Carrano, Vincent Docimo, Ian Parsons and John Short, fifth graders at Holy Angels School in Arcadia and members of the school’s Cub Scout Pack 114, achieved the Supernova Award.

Arcadia City Council has authorized the Arcadia Fire Department to spend $184,682 to buy an urban search and rescue truck and $64,408 on 100 ballistic vests for the Arcadia Police Department.

Dylan Shen completes Eagle Scout project in Arcadia Wilderness Park. He restored the historic fire circle there. The Fire Circle was first presented to the City in April 1964.
Arcadia resident, 17 year-old Nikolas Smalldridge, is a Boy Scout from Troop 169 in Temple City. He is collecting baby items to fly from El Monte Airport to the House of Ruth Pregnancy Care Center in Cottonwood, Arizona. He has a private pilot license.
Fire Chief Michael Lang is leaving Arcadia Fire Department to be Fire Chief at Manhattan Beach. He was with Arcadia Fire Department for 21 years, including 5 as chief. He starts at Manhattan Beach Fire Department on June 21.
With a combined donation of $1500, Arcadia Rotary and Santa Rosa Rotary helped provide a 22-year-old fire truck to the city of Santa Cruz del Quiche in Guatemala.
Arcadia Fire Department received Fire Engine No. 343 from the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES). The number is significant and it has been specially dedicated by the state to the memory of the 343 New York City firefighters who died on September 11, 2001.
