The K-9 program returns to Arcadia Police Department. Police dog Zoli has been on the job for a month. The K-9 program was previously in place for many years before being discontinued in the mid-2000s.
Special events to be featured at the second annual Lucky Baldwin Day Community Picnic on October 27 include sack races, a spelling bee, and pumpking carving contest. The highlight will be the drawing to select a boy or girl to ride on the city's Rose Parade float.

Representative Judy Chu (District 28) makes special speaking appearance at Arcadia High School on February 3, 2023. She spoke about monumental issues and legislation on topics like gun control, abortion, and more, hosted by Arcadia Young Democrats. The event called "What's New with Representative Chu," was the first of its kind at Arcadia High School. Chu, the first Chinese- American woman ever elected to Congress, has had a 22-year career in politics.
Arcadia High School student Nancy Xu, a senior, launches children’s book diversity campaign. She has written a children’s book called Hana and Arnie, a tale of a girl and an armadillo taught their village to embrace immigrants and diversity. She has a Kickstarter campaign.
Arcadia High School sisters Renee and Isabella "Bella" Heinrichs led their Girl Scouts team Rock N' Roll Robots to victory at a regional contest and will advance to Robotics World Championship in Houston, TX.
Arcadia Unified School District kicked off the 2001-2002 school year with its annual Back to School Barbeque. Kiwanis Club of Arcadia sponsored the event.
Highland Oaks PTSA gives service awards and installs its Executive Board on May 28, 2003. Yoshiko Hayashi and Dick Grumm received "Very Special Friend" awards. Teacher Teresa Sarrail received the Honorary Service Award. Volunteers Cindy Forillo and Stephanie McNutt also received the Honorary Service Award. Lisa Lucas was installed for a second term as PTSA president.
