25-year old Colleen Kay Hutchins, who represented Utah in the Miss America contest, was named Miss America Saturday night. She is one of seven children of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Hutchins of Arcadia.

Taste of Arcadia will take place September 23, 2013 at the Los Angeles County Arboretum, and will feature a red carpet experience, Peter Dills, the official celebrity ambassador of Taste of Arcadia and host of "Dining with Dills" on KABC-AM 790 Talk Radio, Arcadia Mayor Mickey Segal, Daniela Brazil and Oya Brazil Samba Show dancers, Lynda Kay (critically acclaimed singer), filmmaker Adam Ravetch, among others. Dr. Kay Clifford, president of the Board of Education and candidate for re-election, has dropped out of the race. Clifford has been called on a 3-year mission for his church.
Kay Okamoto, 73, a former World War II intern in a Wyoming relocation camp, relived the experience after seeing the current film "Come See the Paradise", which features two of her grandsons, Brian and Scott, working as extras in two scenes.
Dr. Lewis May has won re-election; Mrs. Gloria Horstman, who had been appointed to fill the term of the late Dr. Gary Mills, won election in her own right; and Dr. Kay Clifford will replace Dr. George Frempter who is retiring.
