For the second time in three years, science students from Arcadia High School took the top prize Saturday in the county regional competition of the National Science Bowl.
For the third year in a row, a five-member team from Arcadia High School took top honors in the regional National Science Bowl and is headed for national competition in Washington, D.C., in May.
A team from Arcadia High School was the regional winner in the 1996 National Science Bowl. They will join other regional winners in the finals of the competition in late April in Florida.
Five high school whiz-kids left Friday for the National Science Bowl in Maryland. The team includes Alex Fabrikant, Alex Hong, Brian Li, Silvia Ngo and Vincent Auyeung.
Arcadia High School's team took 4th place among 68 schools in the 2010 National Science Bowl held in Washington D.C. last weekend. First Lady Michelle Obama addressed the importance of science education and greeted the teams personally. The team is comprised of seniors Jason Jong, Alex Wang and Eddie Xue and juniors Samuel Zeng and Derek Chou. The team coach and advisor is Cheryl Mynster.

Three area schools will be heading to the state competition after earning high scores in this year's Los Angeles County Academic Decathlon. The Arcadia High School team is shown in a picture with its second place "Super Quiz" trophy.
High school baseball rankings. Arcadia High School is ranked 4th. Last season the Apaches were one of the area's best teams, finishing 22-5 and winning the Pacific League with a perfect 14-0 record. Advanced to the second round of the Division 1 playoffs, losing to Harvard Westlake.

The 9-person team of Arcadia High School placed 3rd out of 73 teams in the county's 41st annual Academic Decathlon, thus performing the best ever in Arcadia High School history. The decathlon consists of speech, math, science, fine arts, social science/history, economics, language, literature and essay competitions.
Arcadia High School students emerged triumphant for the third year in a row at the annual Surf Bowl. It is a quiz competition focused on ocean-related knowledge.
15 Arcadia High School students beat out 19 other schools to win the county competition of the Science Olympiad. The state competition is set for April 9, followed by the national competition in Arizona.

The Arcadia High School advanced placement government class defeated 13 other state teams in the "We the People" Bill of Rights and Constitution competition in Sacramento. The 29 member team will represent California in the national competition May 1-3 in Washington, D.C.
