Arcadia welcomes the 49th Pasadena Showcase House of Design. The house will be a 1941 Monterey Colonial house designed by renowned architect Roland E. Coate. It will be renovated by Southern California's prominent interior and exterior designers and will open for public tours April 21-May 19, 2013. The showcase house is a fundraiser that supports bringing music and art programs to children.
Based on the description and surveillance video, Arcadia police believe the same man may have robbed two 7-Eleven stores this month. The most recent robbery took place on May 20 at the 7-Eleven at Live Oak and Tyler Avenues. The previous crime occurred on May 10 at the 7-Eleven at 1003 S. Baldwin Avenue in Arcadia.
State official views damage caused by last week's windstorm. California Emergency Management Agency's acting secretary Mike J. E. Dayton toured 8 San Gabriel Valley cities that were hardest hit, including Altadena, Pasadena, San Marino, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Temple City, San Gabriel and Alhambra, to assess the damage.
