Arcadia Methodist Hospital celebrates opening of the new Hyperbaric Oxygen Center and its lifesaving possibilities for patients. A grant from H. N. and Frances C. Berger Foundation enabled the hospital to purchase and install a hyperbaric chamber in the hospital's Wound Healing Center.
Arcadia businesses are eager for extended race season at Santa Anita Park to increase their own business. The live racing season will be extended by 11 weeks next year, through July 5, pending approval of California Horse Racing Board, due to the closure of Betfair Hollywood Park in Inglewood.
Opening day at Santa Anita Park will be September 30. It will be proclaimed "Arcadia Day" and all Arcadia residents will be granted free Club House admission with proof of residency. A brand new state-of-the-art natural dirt main track was completed July 26.

Track is transitioning to a single source material consisting of highly coveted El Segundo Sand, a natural soil that will ensure balanced drainage during periods of wet weather and uniform, safe cushion year round.
