Arcadia Fire Department responded to a $40,000 structure fire in the 200 block of E. Haven Avenue in Arcadia. No one was injured. It was a single-story single-family dwelling.
Arcadia Fire Department responded to a hazardous materials spill at San Carlos Road, on January 21, 2013 at 1:00 PM. The spill was contained and was not released into storm drain system. The substance was identified as muriatic acid. Neutralization techniques were implemented to abate the hazard.
Arcadia Fire Department and Monrovia Fire Department resonded to a fire that destroyed a vacant Arcadia house in the 1300 block of South First Avenue. The house was in the process of being sold and was in escrow. The damage is estimated at $300,000.

A recent audit of fire department response times in 12 cities shows San Marino and Pasadena firefighters were the quickest in responding to emergency calls. The report covered April, May and June. San Marino's and Pasadena's average response times were 4:03 and 4:02, respectively. Arcadia's average, in comparison, was 4:21.

On October 25, 2011 at 7:18 AM, Arcadia Fire Department responded to a structure fire with multiple explosions in the 1400 block of S. Mayflower Avenue. The flames engulfed a detached 4-car garage behind a single family home. The fire appears to be accidental. Estimated loss is $150,000 including two vehicles. No one was injured.
Arcadia Police Department offers a safe meet up spot for internet sales. The Internet Exchange “Meet Up” spot is in the police department parking lot. The lot has video surveillance and is adjacent to the police station in the southwest corner of the parking lot.
Commemorating the 85th anniversary of the death of Arcadia Police Department officer Albert Edward Matthies, the Arcadia Police and Fire departments will have a service at Live Oak Memorial Park, where he is interred and a commemorative monument will be unveiled at his grave site.
