Arcadia firefighter/paramedic Michael Herdman was remembered as a devoted father and animal lover, at a memorial service yesterday, at Arcadia Performing Arts Center. Hundreds attended. Firefighter receives third degree burns in Monrovia arson fire. Arcadia Fire Captain Thomas Devlin was injured in fire at a business at 335 West Chestnut Avenue in Monrovia on December 26, 2015. Suspect commits suicide.
Two men were arrested on Camino Grove Avenue and 6th Avenue in Arcadia. They were Thomas Zion, 24, of Arcadia, and Juan Manuel Rodriguezzendejas, 31, of Altadena. Zion allegedly hit Rodriguezzendejas with an ax handle as Rodriguezzendejas was wielding a screwdriver.
Thomas Seaman, investigator of alleged Gemcoin fraud, issues first report. It reveals mounting evidence of fraudulent activity by Arcadia businessman Steve Chen a.k.a. Li Chen or Chen Li, whose business was at 135 E. Live Oak Ave., currently in receivership.
Six Arcadia police recruits graduate from Rio Hondo Police Academy. They are pictured with Arcadia Police Chief Bob Guthrie and captains Larry Goodman and Paul Foley.
