The school board elected new officers for the 1990-91 year. These include G. Michael Allison, President; Robert Kladifko, vice president; and James Bryant, secretary.
The terms of G. Michael Allison, Robert Kladifko and James Bryant will expire on June 30. Bryant will stay on for another term, to be joined by newcomers Michael Lamb, 41, a 20-year resident and funeral director and Maryann Gibson, an 11-year resident and PTA Council President.
The founder of Focus on the Family, James Dobson, will resign as president and chief executive. Dobson formed the beginnings of Focus on the Family in 1977 in Arcadia and moved to Colorado Springs in 1991.
R. James Considine, selected by the California State University Alumni Council from a field of 14 candidates from around the state, is the new alumni trustee for the governing board of the CSU system.
James Val, 39, an elementary school teacher, has received two Emmy nominations for his documentary work and is currently working on a film script with two other writers.
James C. Romo has been appointed to the Governing Board of the Arcadia Unified School District to fill the vacant seat created by the resignation of Michael Lamb in September.
