Arcadia Denny's at northeast corner of Huntington Drive and Santa Anita Avenue to restore collapsed windmill. The building's original occupant was Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery. The windmill had been previously restored and reactivated on June 29, 2016. About $100,000 was spent refurbishing it at that time.
2019 Rose Parade. Tournament of Roses names 44 court finalists. Four are from Arcadia High School. They are Faith van Haaster, Pourobee Saha, Linzi Qi, Helena Simpson, and Margaret Chang.
Denny's windmill spins again. The windmill atop Denny's at northeast corner of Santa Anita Avenue and Huntington Drive was designed by Harold Bissner as the template for Van de Kamp's Holland Dutch Bakery's coffee shop franchise. It opened in 1967 in Arcadia, the first of 15 built from his designs. Denny's bought the location in 1989. Denny's spent $100,000 refurbishing the windmill.
Five running for three Arcadia City Council seats. The five are Tom Beck, a retired Pasadena attorney, Sho Tay, a retired businessman, Roger Chandler, a former Arcadia City Councilman, Paul Van Fleet, an insurance agent, and Burton L. Brink, a sergeant in Los Angeles County Sheriff's Crescenta Valley Station. The completely mail-in ballot election will be on April 8. See hard copy in VF City Council Elections (2014).
Breeders' Cup World Championships take place this weekend at Santa Anita Park, with a lot of celebrity support from Tim Conway, Jr., Tim Conway, Sr., Mel Brooks, Dick Van Patten, Bobby Flay, Dustin Hoffman, Bo Derek, Kurt Russell, Jim Rome, and more.
Six candidates vying for two seats on Arcadia City Council in the April 12 all-mail-in ballot. Current Mayor Gary Kovacic is terming out this year and Councilman Mickey Segal is not seeking re-election. Among those running are three former city councilman-- Peter Amundson, Bob Harbicht, and Sheng Chang. Also running are Burton L. Santa Anita Park: DA to examine death of 22 horses at track.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is investigating whether the 22 horse deaths at Santa Anita racetrack in the past three months were the result of criminal wrongdoing, authorities said Friday.
The probe began this week following the death of the 22nd horse Thursday.
