Obituary/death notice. An emotional farewell to Arcadia firefighter Andy Michael Troncale. He died at age 52 of cancer. Funeral services were held January 30, 2012 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, interment at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

In Arcadia, doughnut business owners Francois Ung and his wife Shally Ung remember and honor their friend Andy Kao, a victim of the shooting at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio on January 21, 2023, with a pledge that they will send proceeds from sales at their Arcadia Donuts store on January 20 and 21 to the Monterey Park Hope and Resiliency Center and the Andy Kao Memorial Ballroom Dance Group to assist funding the nonprofit organizations. The Arcadia High School Constitution Team was awarded first place at the California State Finals of the "We the People:the Citizen and the Constitution" competition held in Sacramento.

Arcadian Betsy Hatch took 2nd prize in the Textile and Craft Division of the California State Fair. Hatch, whose background and enthusiasm for her work is described, teaches a class in quilting.
Arcadian Bob Wieland, a double amputee who is walking from California to Washington, D.C. on his hands to raise money for world hunger projects, has progressed 161.7 miles on his 3,400 mile journey.
23 Arcadia High School students capped third-place honors in the California State Finals of the National Bicentennial Competition.
