About 40 members of the Arcadia Chinese Association protested in front of the Chinese Consulate General offices, condemning the Chinese government for killing unarmed students in Beijing.
Recent groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Arcadia Chapter building of the American Red Cross culminated years of fundraising projects and negotiations between the Red Cross, Methodist Hospital and City of Arcadia. Ceremony held at Methodist Hospital.
The Asian-American Association for Arcadia, a new community service organization in the city, has been formed to act as a bridge for new immigrants to become involved in the mainstream of Arcadia life. David Ma is chairman of the group.

City Council has renewed an examination of the admission tax Santa Anita pays compared to other race tracks. The track provided 34.1% of the city's total annual revenues in the fiscal year 1980-81. Traffic control costs in Arcadia are higher than in other cities with race tracks.
Arcadia Methodist Hospital now utilizes DOCENT, a communications computer program which automatically enters test results and other reports into the hospital's main computer as soon as they are processed by the laboratory, thereby eliminating the need for a technician or lab secretary to manually enter the data.
Construction will begin in September on a new district office for the Automobile Club of Southern California. The building is part of the redevelopment project on east Huntington Drive.
Three offices of the Automobile Club of Southern California will be combined when a new Arcadia district office opens in 1989 on Huntington Drive between Second and Fifth Streets.
