After 19 years as an employee with Arcadia Unified School District, Virgil J. Goode has retired. Goode worked over the years as custodian, groundsman and bus driver.
Richard Grimes, the dean of students at Crescenta Valley High School in the Glendale Unified School District, has been named director/principal of alternative programs in the Arcadia Unified School District, replacing the retired Richard Towner.
The Arcadia Unified School District Board of Education chose Karen M. Cline, assistant principal at Ramona Intermediate School in Bonita, to be the new principal for First Avenue Junior High School.

Arthur Tucker, former Arcadia school administrator, died September 15 after a long bout with cancer. Tucker served as Principal at Holly Avenue, Highland Oaks and Camino Grove Schools.
Arcadia Unified School District hires four new principals. Isabelle Stires is retiring after 19 years in the Arcadia Unified School District. This past year Mrs. Stires has been teaching second grade at Camino Grove School. Before that she taught second and third graded at Bonita Park School. She and her husband plan to travel.
