Jan Corey, assistant city manager for economic development and city manager pro-tem in Arcadia, has resigned his position effective Jan. 14, 1983. He has accepted the position of deputy city manager with the city of Simi Valley, Ventura County.
Dr. John E. Hart has been named principal of Longley Way School in Arcadia. He has been in the Arcadia Unified School District for 22 years. The article tells of his various positions.
Jerry Barshay was chosen to replace Dr. Richard Cordano as Principal of Arcadia High School. Barshay is a native Californian and has been an educator in the public schools for 18 years. He served most recently as vice principal of the Torrance School District.

Susan MacNab will succeed Paul Mundy at Hugo Reid; William Robertson will succeed Charles Jarboe at Camino Grove; John Bogut at Arcadia Continuation succeeding John Simmons; Mark Vetter, English teacher at Arcadia High School, has been appointed assistant principal, Curriculum and Guidance at the high school.

Dr. Richard Cordano, Principal of Arcadia High School, has announced that he will take an early retirement effective June 30, 1985. Cordano first came to Arcadia High in 1964 from John Muir High School in Pasadena.
Ernest "Cal" Ford recently retired after 27 years of driving a school bus for Arcadia School District. Ford is a second generation school bus driver. His father drove a school bus for Arcadia in the 1930's.
Peter Kinnahan, former redevelopment project manager for the City of Carson, has been appointed assistant city manager for economic development in Arcadia by City Manager George Watts. Kinnahan succeeds Jay Corey.
Ben Dennison has been a Special Education teacher in the Arcadia Unified School District since September of 1954. He works with high school age students of very limited academic ability.
Arthur Tucker, former Arcadia school administrator, died September 15 after a long bout with cancer. Tucker served as Principal at Holly Avenue, Highland Oaks and Camino Grove Schools.
Arcadia High students have fond memories of dead teacher. Ken Aberle, 42, died on June 2 at the City of Hope after a nine-month battle with leukemia. About 150 students gave blood at Arcadia Methodist Hospital.
