One of the most comprehensive pictorial presentations of San Gabriel Valley history will be shown at Fashion Park June 24 through July 12. Done by history students from Cal State LA, it has been over two years in the planning.

210 Freeway closure creates 5-mile backup for 5 days. 605 Freeway also affected by work on a bridge. Caltrans is repairing a 50-year-old concrete bridge on the 210 Freeway spanning the San Gabriel River. Most affected were motorists and truckers from eastern Los Angeles County and Inland Empire, driving the preferred route into Irwindale, Duarte, Arcadia, Monrovia, Pasadena, and San Fernando Valley.

Harry Hufford, the chief administrative officer for Los Angeles County, predicted that taxes would double for residents of Newhall-Saugus-Santa Clarita Valley area if they were to break away from Los Angeles County. The same would hold true for the San Gabriel Valley.
Bobcat Fire, on its 9th day in the San Gabriel Mountains, continued to grow north of the San Gabriel Valley. It had charred 38,299 acres Monday with containment at 3%. The fire has crossed to west side of Santa Anita Canyon. On Sunday, residents in Arcadia and Sierra Madre who live north of Elkins Avenue and east of Santa Anita Avenue were ordered to evacuate. About 305 homes were in the evacuation zone. Most are in Arcadia and 32 are in Sierra Madre.
California home prices continue to increase. Chart shows the change in median home prices from March 2004 to March 2005. The median home price in Arcadia went up 7.5% in the last year.
The graduation of a San Gabriel Valley Law Enforcement Explorer Academy class is dedicated to the memory of retired Azusa police Officer Randall ("Randy") Phillips, 55, of Ontario. Phillips died in a car crash on his way to teaching that first day of class.
