Arcadia held its 7th annual Law Day on Saturday, May 14, 2005. About 230 people attended this year-twice as many as last year. Lawyer and former Arcadia mayor Gary A. Kovacic founded the event and planned it in conjunction with the Arcadia Chinese Association.
Law Day was held Saturday at the Arcadia Public Library. The City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Chinese Association sponsored the program. Residents got to ask for free legal advice from community lawyers.
City of Arcadia in partnership with Arcadia Chinese Association, will offer a free Ask-a-Lawyer Program on Saturday, May 19, 10 AM - 1 PM at the Arcadia Public Library, to celebrate Law Day. This is the 20th consecutive year this free public service has been offered by the City of Arcadia and Arcadia Chinese Association.
As part of National Law Day the City of Arcadia and the Arcadia Chinese Association will sponsor a free Ask-A-Lawyer Program at the Arcadia Public Library.

For the fifth straight year, more than two dozen local lawyers and judges will provide pro-bono consultation for the public on Saturday, May 3 in observance of Law Day. The free legal clinic will be at the Arcadia Public Library.
Arcadia Chinese Association's biggest fundraiser of the year to benefit the Arcadia community takes place November 5 with the theme "That 70s Show." Funds raised are donated to Arcadia High School, Arcadia Public Library, Arcadia Police Department, Arcadia Fire Department, Arcadia Methodist Hospital, Assistance League of Arcadia, Foothill Unity Center, Arcadia Historical Museum and more.
The 35th annual Public Schools luncheon was held at the Masonic Center to honor 26 National Merit Scholarship students. The Foothills Middle School Sixth Grade Chorus performed.
The 9th annual "Remembering Our Veterans and Their Families" event was held at Arcadia County Park to honor our soldiers. Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich attended.
Several members of the Arcadia Chinese Association, in addition to Chinese groups from other cities called a press conference together to discuss the recent proposed trip to Taiwan for Police Chief Ronnie Garner.

City to unveil Vietnam War monument today. A dedication ceremony will be held 2:00 PM at Arcadia County Park. The monument honors 14 Arcadia servicemen killed in the conflict.
4th Annual Downtown Arcadia Patriotic Festival, an Independence Day celebration, takes place on First Avenue between Bonita Street and Diamond Street, Sunday, July 1, 5-9 PM.
