The Arcadia Public Library was located at the southwest corner of First Avenue and Wheeler Street from 1930 to April 1961. Plate on the bottom of the frame reads In Memory of Drexel E. Watson. (This painting appears to be separate from the series of 100 historical paintings by Lenz and Wishek that Friends of the Arcadia Public Library had donated to the Arcadia Public Library in 1967).
Mrs. Raymond A. Dorn, wife of Pasadena real estate man, who developed much of the property north of Foothill Boulevard in Arcadia, was killed and her husband injured in an automobile accident at Rosemead Boulevard and Callita Street.
Miss Arcadia of 1963 is Vikki Lynn Davis. She will be on the Arcadia float in the Rose Parade on January 1, 1963. The Junior Chamber of Commerce conducted the contest. Two princesses were selected: Lauren Dahl and Diana Lynne Donnelly.
