A house-to-house survey of registered voters in Annexation Area 80-2 shows that most of the voters favor annexation by Arcadia over Temple City. Article gives the breakdown by street. The area is an "island" bounded by Temple City Blvd. on the west, Longden Ave. on the south, and the Arcadia boundary on the north and east.
The general plan will be reviewed by the Planning Commission. The "central area" will be the focus of study. This area runs from the 210 Foothill freeway on the north to Duarte Road on the south and from the east city boundary to Santa Anita Avenue. It also includes the commercial section west of Santa Anita Avenue and north of Huntington Drive.
Standard Oil drilling rig set up near Daines Dr. at Live Oak Park. Standard was given permission to drill in summer of 1970. Drilling went on for several months and when the well proved dry, the rig was dismantled (this probably is in Temple City).
The Arcadia Redevelopment Agency granted Stanley Gribble and Associates a 6-month exclusive right to negotiate with the city to develop a commercial project at the east end of the city between the railroad tracks on the south and west, Huntington on the north and 5th Avenue on the east.

Residents of the 80-2 Homeowners Association are regrouping in their efforts to have their 84+ acre area south and west of the city annexed. Issues involved are discussed.
Arcadia Redevelopment Agency members briefly considered four possible developments on the south side of Huntington Drive in east Arcadia, then discussed whether to increase the size of the development area to include the city yards just south of the current project area.
The battle continues over the annexation of county island 80-2. Some residents favor annexation by Arcadia, while others wish to become a part of Temple City. The Arcadia City Council has approved annexation of the Shelter Isle Village condominium as a separate unit. Costs involved in the annexation of the rest of the area are discussed.
The Automobile Club of Southern California will relocate its Temple City and Monrovia offices to its new facility at 420 East Huntington Drive, Arcadia, beginning October 16.
City planners will try to preserve Rosemarie Drive in Arcadia, as they work with a developer and neighbors on the possibility of a split lot for Joseph Winn's property at 460 W. Walnut. Currently the street has a cul-de-sac to the west and dead ends to the east.

Plans for a series of office buildings and a high-rise hotel in the Arcadia redevelopment area require general plan and zone changes. The first move is an environmental impact report for the area bounded by the 210 Freeway on the north, the railroad tracks on the south, Fifth Avenue on the east and Second Avenue on the west.
Proposed annexation of the area between Standish Street on the north and Jeffries on the south. One hundred percent of the residents of the area have asked to be annexed, so proceedings should move rapidly.
Issues discussed at City Council meeting included redevelopment of South Arcadia along Live Oak Avenue and Las Tunas Drive, between just east of 6th Avenue and west of the Arcadia wash. The meeting lasted 18 minutes.
Pasadena is taking another look at the county area east of Rosemead, north of Colorado, and west of Michillinda, which is currently in what is considered Arcadia's sphere of influence.
