The Arcadia High School Constitution Team was awarded first place at the California State Finals of the "We the People:the Citizen and the Constitution" competition held in Sacramento.

23 "heroes and heroines" in the Arcadia Unified School District were honored by the Board of Education in the first "Profiles in Excellence" awards. The awards were presented to "individuals who maintain a standard of excellence in their work and who represent those values and qualities which make Arcadia a special place for students." Starting in 1993-1994, Arcadia High School will change its grading policy that awards an extra grade point to students taking honors classes. The new system will give no more weight to honors courses than to regular courses.
The Foothill Middle School "Project Adventure" program has received the highly respected Golden Bell Award from the California School Boards Association. The award program recognizes innovative programs throughout the state.
23 Arcadia High School students capped third-place honors in the California State Finals of the National Bicentennial Competition.
