The site will be used for the corporate headquarters for HTL Industries and a two story office building to be built by Jeff Jons and Jim Kuhn. A $222,000 study is underway to determine the strength of the Santa Anita Dam under extreme earthquake stress. The study is to be completed by February 1977.
About 44 residents of Newcastle, Australia will be here for several days - going to the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game. One of their girls will ride on Arcadia's Rose Parade float. Many civic affairs are planned.
The American Indian will be spotlighted on three floats in this year's Tournament of Roses Parade. Farmers Insurance Group's float will depict an Indian on horseback. Arcadia's float theme is "The First Americans" and the County of Los Angeles' float theme is "The Proud American."
Approximately 147 students who have attended Hugo Reid will be transferred to Holly Avenue next year if the proposal is passed by the school board. The transfer and boundary change are designed to alleviate over-crowding at Hugo Reid.
